i am in the process of purchsing ssl, but ssl provider advised that my server name / common name is for internal and not qualified common name. Below is the warning
The requested common name, dmz-uds.xxxx.vv is not a fully-qualified common name, and must be used on an internal server. Please confirm that this certificate is not meant to be World Wide Web-accessible, otherwise please use a fully-qualified common name.

The SSL certificate in question is for the Communications module. The communications module needs to be accessible from the internet as this is where devices activate to, therefore the SSL certificate would need to be issued for that external facing FQDN.
Please see Page 10 under the section of “Installing the Communication Module” in the following document explains the requirement for the communications module to be accessible from the internet.
