iPad Keyboard not responding at unlock screen

iPad users are getting an intermittent problem when they slide to unlock: once in about 3 to 4 times the keyboard becomes unresponsive.

They have to simulate a power off and then hit cancel to get the keyboard back and enter their passcode to unlock the device.

It does this for the tablets only, not the iPhone's or the Androids.

Any idea's
