8100 - Icon on Lock Screen

When I lock my BB a padlock icon appears in the top centre of the screen. Sometimes it looks locked, and sometimes unlocked. I've also head an increased occurrence of having to wait for the spinning 'busy' icon to finish. Does anybody know what the padlock is, and how I can stop it showing? It's becoming fairly irritating...

Re: 8100 - Icon on Lock Screen

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Are you using a corporate phone? If not did you by the phone second hand or via eBay?

In most cases the red lock is indicative of a policy restriction on the phone, generally installed

by the IT department of a company.

Also, please go to the options icon, click, select status, and write down the file free number and

send it to me, OK?

Thanks,

Thanks Bifocals,

It is a corporate phone - curiously the padlock icon wasn't there for the first 5 months I was using it.

File free is 17131404 bytes.

Re: 8100 - Icon on Lock Screen

Hi,

Regarding the lock, it may be that it only goes off in conjuction with another function.

Check with the IT guys.

The "egg timer"

You have 64 mb of total memory on your device. You sent that you have 16mb free.

15 mb free would be considered a minimum.

Most people close the applications by pressing the escape or red key. This does not close the applications.

Each application has a close option. For instance if you are in the calendar hit the menu key (spotted key) and scroll down to the bottom close is listed.

When done using the browser, press menu and options, select cache operations,

clear all categories and hit escape it will clean the browser cache.

Use the attached links to manage your memory efficiently.

Thanks,
