8100 on TMo. 4.5 OS won't connect to internet

Hi guys. I followed the procedure that was suggested at this link to upgrade my Pearl to the 4.5 OS.

 

The phone can't seem to pick up a data connection for the internet now, though it does still pull my email and my Google Maps works. Gmail won't connect, nor will my Opera Mini browser.

 

Any help would be appreciated!

 

 

(Other random bits: 2 of MyFaves don't load, "About" link does not work)

 

Should I have gone through a different process? Will the 4.5 OS work OK with TMo?

1. Can you send email from the device?

 

2. At Options > Advanced > TCP, what are your settings there?

Thanks for your reply.

 

Yes, I am able to send and receive mail via my POP3 (work) account out of the "Messages" utility. My Gmail and internet connections reply that there is no data connection.

 

Options > Advanced > TCP was originally blank.

 

I updated this per advice from Opera Mini support page (to no avail) to read: wap.voicestream.com (No UN or PW)

It certainly won't hurt to try sending service books again, at least.

 

1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.

2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site.
From your handheld device: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
From your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830

3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot

Hmmm....Nearly impossible to find out where to log on to the services web site area to send service books (TMobile's new and improved website is a mess)

 

I did Step 1 you suggested already....on chat with tech support. Updates here as events warrant!

Allllrighty then! Now she's a-working.

 

That was it; I had to resend the Service Books to get my phone registered with TMo again.

 

For those of you with the same issue, you'll need to log on to your TMobile account and go to Manage > Phone > Set up Blackberry Internet Email.

 

Once there, you'll see a link on the side for Service Books.
