Hello folks,
I browsed briefly and didn't see any thread addressing this problem, so I was hoping you guys could help me troubleshoot. In the menu screen, I can turn the network on and it remains that way for a little while before losing upload/download arrows, all reception bars, and finally the 'radio' turns itself off. The status symbol goes from the green checkmark to the yellow dash and then the red 'x'. This usually happens within a minute or two.
This just started happening last night and it's not a reception issue as far as I know.
Anyone encountered this problem? Any quick fixes I should know about?
Thanks in advance.

Hello smtobin,
First question I have is who is your service provider? and the second is have you tried contacting them? I know with the radio connection on the blackberries it can be a problem on the service providers end that is causing the loss of signal. If that is not the case, reply again.

I have had this issue happen with me twice.
I am with Bell...But I really don't think it's a service issue as when you manually turn the connection on it you get signal again. Even when the radio signal says "off" for the phone, when you call your number (with another phone) you get a dial tone before it goes to your voicemail. If it's functioning perfectly on the other end I think it's just the 8130 that's the problem.
I have had friends where it's happened to them and this is my 2nd pearl which now has the same problem.
When I went to the store I bought my 8130 the first time, they reset the phone and it didn't fix the problem.
And now that's it's died again, I've updated the firmware, and called customer service where they told me to run a diagnostics test which hasn't fixed my problem.
The customer service rep. said it's happened often and since my phone is out of warrenty I have to return it and get a new phone...
If they know it's a reoccuring issue why don't they try and fix the **bleep** thing!?!

Just something to add....
in the 8130
If you click on manage connections
then check mobile network
keep that box opened
If you call your cell, it still rings but your phone doesn't receive it...even if it says it's at full bars?
Sometimes if you call it doesn't ring at all and goes straight to voicemail...
Please does anyone know how to solve this issue? OR had this experience happen to them?
