8130 Perl

Today my call log disappeared. Upon investigating I found that my available memory was zero. Is this the cause?

I deleted a bunch of pics that were stored and all messages. Now it appears that I have memory.

Will my call log begin working again?

How do I keep my memory from being used up?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Pearl. Pearl.

First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free? Now, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot. What is the File Free now?

Re: 8130 Perl

Actually I did that right after posting and it worked, but I wasn't certain if that did the trick or deleting the photos and e-mail history did it.  What do I do to prevent it from happening again

thanks for the feed back

Read those links again. There is much more you can do in addition to deleting photos and email history. Much more.

Manage you memory, it is a must on the BlackBerry.

Search for and download "Soft Reset" saves a lot of wear and tear on removing the battery cover and taking out the battery, even better if you are using a different holster other than the stock holster and it's difficult to take out.

It's been reported that it doesn't work anymore with OS4.5, but I haven't had any problems with at all.

Definitely follow JSanders advice on managing your memory on the pearl, unfortunately its a must and it's tough finding out the hard way why all your call logs and sms's are deleting.  :smileyhappy:

Re: 8130 Perl

see here is the bigger problem, on this phone the "soft reset" is the removing the battery which I have to do every day at least twice to four times a day. other wise my call log, sms, mms, and some random emails gets deleted now if there is a way to fix that issue Id love to hear it

Re: 8130 Perl

Your problem will probably keep happening unless you buy a memory card. I had the same thing happen. They really should tell us that when we buy the phones.

Re: 8130 Perl

I have a gig of sd memory and I save all programs and pictures and movies voice notes and IM logs on to it.... the internal memory just isnt enough for the way blackberry pearl operates....

I do an Alt LGL and clear the log, followed by memory cleaner tool that I have, which cleans the cache.... but the problem still exists
