8220 Random Crashes

My 8220 crashes randomly with the symptons being

1. The external display freezes, like it's 10pm at night, but the clock still shows 6am.

2. The main display doesn't turn on when the phone is flipped open.

3. The phone doesn't respond to any key. The only way to reset the phone is to remove the battery then put it back in.

It happens whether it is being charged or not, and on different battery levels. It crashes about 1 to 2 time per week.

The software version is v4.6.0.200, however it is not the one that comes with the phone. I loaded it with 8220EastAsia_PBr4.6.0_rel344_PL4.1.0.71_A4.6.0.200_Optus.exe.

Re: 8220 Random Crashes

Try steps below

step 1:

transfer all your files from internal memory to micro-sd memory card.

You can observe your device memory contents via instruction:

step 2:

Make selective backup

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8100&message.id=15956#M15956

Refer to this article  to realize what databases you need to backup.

step3:

After that on the device go to Options - Security Options - General Settings

Open menu and select "Wipe handheld"

Now, does the problem disappear? If so - restore the backed up information.
