Recently my original pearl flip battery's life seemed to be shorter and shorter so I purchased a replacement Rayovac battery specifically for the pearl flip but this new battery's life seems even worse than the original Blackberry battery. Has anyone noticed that if you don't use the Blackberry battery that charging just doesn't last and the phone has to be recharged every night? I use my phone for emergencies only so often times my phone can go three or four days without even being turned on. Why, all of the sudden, when my Blackberry battery would last a week or more, does it all of the sudden not hold a charge when it is not even turned on for a couple of days? I make sure it is turned off after I do use it albeit not very often. HELP!! What is my problem? Does it have to be a Blackberry battery to work right in the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220? Thanks.

1. I would recommend an OEM battery.
2. If the device is used only for emergencies, why are you turning it off?
If it is an emergency device, keep the device powered on, and charge it every couple of days. The batteries (Li-Ion) prefer to be topped off, and actually are damaged by constantly draining the battery completely to 0-15%.
Here are some good charging tips, please read and you'll see that many of them will apply to you.
