Not sure why this phone is doing this, but the flash stays on all the time whether the phone is turned on or off.
Anybody have any ideas?

Welcme to the Frums!
I am not sure I am following you as to how you know the flash is on all the time. The only time my flash on my camera goes off is when I click to take a picture.
can you give a little more details

I'm having the same problem with my (Blackberry 8100) flash staying on.
It fires normally when I take a picture and will remain off for a few minutes but.........it comes on and stays illuminated.
I have dumped the phone memory, opened the camera options menue and selected flash "off", soft re-booted and reloaded the current version of the software.
Even when I turn the power off the flash LED remails illuminated. It kills the battery in about an hour or less and gets very hot on the earpiece end where the camera is.
It stands to reason that the phone will get hot and dump the battery very quickly but Nobody seems to get why the dang thing came on and stays on, in the first place. After trying everything to make it go away, I'm wondering if this is an indication of a battery dying or something.
Have you found any other possible reason this is happening??
Give me a shout or write back when you can??

i'm having the same problem with my BB 8100 flash staying illuminated. Even with the power off.
did you find any solutions to yours?
I'm begining to think that its an indicator of a battery going bad.......I've tried everything else.

I am on my second BB and tmobile is sending a third. I've had this problem since I bought the phone. I have tried new software, new batteries, New phones, nothing seems to help. If this happens while the phone is in my pocket the battery gets extremly hot and seams to drain very quckly. Very frustrating and irritating. I paid good money for this phone and so far no one whats to admit there is a problem. I would hope some one from RIM would monitor these forums and come up with a solution. If any finds a solution to this, Please, Please take the time to post here and help those of us who are suffering.

This happen toa Blackberry Pearl where I work. The flashlight has a keyboard shortcut. When you are in the camera option or video camera option press the space key. This turns the flashlight on and off. Once it has been switched on this way it stays on until you use the space bar to turn it off even if you take the battery out etc. Hope this helps
