Re: Company phone with a new user

Is this BlackBerry also on the company BES or enterprise account, or is this now a personal device?

If it's now personal, you don't need the password -- just enter the wrong password several times, you will be asked to enter 'blackberry' and, and then after entering the wrong password again it will wipe itself of all of the former owner's personal data, emails, messages, contacts, preferences, etc.

You may also need to remove the former IT Policy on the device.

See the RIM Knowledge Base article here for information on how to remove an IT Policy. See the Method Three in the link:
KB14202 How to remove an IT policy from a BlackBerry smartphone

Re: Company phone with a new user

Please clarify,...

"It would be on the company BES" now still, you will be using it on the company BES?

"It would be on the company BES" in the past, and won't be from here on?

Re: Company phone with a new user

Finally, ok.

Contact your BES Admin. S/he will give you a new activation password to get this device on the BES up and working.

You don't need the old user's password.

Re: Company phone with a new user

How do I find out who my BES Administrator is? Is that something that we need to contact Telus for?

Ummm no. The BES Admin is the person in your company who handles IT and mobile telephone needs.

Let's drop back to the beginning... you said

So, you work for the SAME company, right?

You intend to use this device on your employer's BES enterprise system.

Or, you really have no idea what I'm asking?

If this is a 'company phone', you'd have permission from the BES Admin to have this device and he'd send you a NEW activation, which would include your email information and password.

What have I assumed wrong?

Re: Company phone with a new user

Ok I believe now I understand what your saying.

What has happened is someone left the company, when they did I was hired and handed the phone that he was using. However, my boss/president of the company did not give me a new activation. We are not a very techy company so I doubt he realized what he needed to do.

He is not in the office today. When he is back what do I all need from him? Does he have to contact anyone and if he does who?
