I would like to install it on my Pearl can I?  I have 4.2 and have tried to update it, but it tells me I have the latest version.  I wanted to update the new messenger, but need 4.5 to do so.  Can someone let me know if this is possible?

T-Mobile..I have gone to the site to update and the only application listed is 4.2. I tried to update 4.5 from the BB site and it does not work either.

Hi,

Here is a link for an thread by Xandrex listing carriers that have 4.5 for the 8100.

Be sure to read this link for How to upgrade: Device OS upgrades

As you are using a different carrier's OS make sure that you delete the Vendors file as described in the above thread.

I removed the vendor file and proceeded to download the OS 4.5, when I hooked up my phone it still told me my device had the latest OS.  Does it matter that my phone is locked?  I just really want to get the blackberry messenger that is why I am going through all this trouble to get 4.5, do I have any other options?

Dont run Desktop manager.

Run loader.exe manually.

Do you mean downloading the software to my desktop and running it that way?  If so I tired and I got an error message.
