I just got a brand new Pearl flip 8230 a couple days ago. Love it, but one thing is bugging me a little. On the main/home screen, with the 5 shortcuts at the bottom, I can't seem to find any way to customize them. My old cheap freebie flip prior to this had this ability, so you can't tell me this feature-rich, nicer phone doesn't. Right now the shortcuts are for messages, my two email accounts, address book, and calender. Is there any way I can change these shortcuts to my liking? I've looked all through the manual and did a quick search online and on these forums and found nothing.
I would greatly appreciate any advice or tips. ![]()

Yep.
Click the menu key to go to the full applications icon screen.Do you notice that the top row there corresponds to the single row on the homescreen?
Find the icon you want to move to the top, scroll to it (don't click on it), press Menu > Move and then scroll to the place on the top line where you want the icon, and click.
There you go... so, no, I can't tell you that this feature rich device doesn't do the same as your old flip.

Hi,
I too have just purchased this phone and have a question. Is there a way to set it up so notifications of messages, emails and phone calls don't appear in all message applications? Also is there a way to increase the earpiece volume?
Thanks
