HI,
I'm a rookie with this blackberry 8220 flip. For past 2 weeks,i'm trying to add display and input language (Chinese) to my phone
The main problem is wheneveri attached through usb cable to my laptop, message : usb device not recognised. I did try to search the board and online to solve this problem and tried them but so far no luck with it
Things that i've done:
- installed desktop software 7 (newest) : done install and reinstall (3 times)
- device software installed : 4.6.0.259 (platform 4.1.0.98)
-installed usb and modem drives : 7.0.0.43
- connect with blue tooth to desktop software but fail in pairing as numbers of pairing not appearing
-enable mass storage mode when connected : yes (on phone)
-turn off firewall and antivirus before attaching usb- i plug into root port, didn't go through and device.
My laptop is running with windows 7 home premium 32-bits with service pack 1.
Phone :v 4.6.0.305 (platform: 4.1.0.100
i start to get frusfrated with the install and reinstall. Any one have a quick solution? best would be able to install by-pass the desktop software ...
Thank you

Hello!
Here is the list of troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:
Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
Hopefully something there is helpful!
Cheers!

I connected and updated the BB desktop manager then more importantly, go ahead and backup using the new version before starting to play and enjoy your apps with the new OS load.
