Free internet issues (Pearl 8110)

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just very frustrated.

 

I got my new BlackBerry today, and I can't get the free internet (for a year) to work.

I tried sending the text to 441 to activate it (at all times during the day) and still doesn't work.

I've tried sorting things through registering on the Host Routing Table, and trying to make a BlackBerry Service account, but I can't because it's not recognized.

Can anyone offer any help? (:

1. Who is your carrier?

 

2. Free internet for a year? Does that "free internet" include having the BlackBerry Data Plan on your account?

You need that. Call your carrier and see if that is what is free. If not, you won't be getting much.

Annoyingly, in an attempt to sort it out, I wiped the blackberry. It now won't connect to the network.

 

EDIT: I have sorted this problem - but still not the free internet stuff.

I don't see anything at that link about free internet service.

 

Also, that site is not an authorized carrier... it's a retailer of devices which sells for carriers. IF they are promising free internet for a year, you are best to ask them, not this BlackBerry forum, how to get it to work.

 

And , to repeat, a generic data plan will not work on a BlackBerry.

It's at the bottom of the 'details' list.

OK, yea i do see that now.

 

Well you should hold Argos to that deal, if they advertise it. Your BlackBerry will require THE BlackBerry Data Plan, none other.

Sorry how did you get that to work? I've got the same problem as you with that T-Mobile Argos deal. Can't get it to work
