By inputting the GPS coordinates? I don't know how you would do that, in either BBMaps or GoogleMaps.

There is likely a third party app which might, but I don't know.

Re: GPS - BB pearl 9105

we can see the coordinates of the place we are if we go to options and gps options! there, we see the usual 40º 29º and whatever but it would be great to locate by introducing also the coordinates... but i think its not possible... maybe with some gps app...

another thing its related to the fact that bb gps dont "talk", like other gps programs... we have to drive and look at the bb all the time

Re: GPS - BB pearl 9105

There are GPS applications for the BlackBerry which have turn by turn voice directions. Telenav is one, but it is not available in all countries.

So, the "talking" is application dependent.

Re: GPS - BB pearl 9105

I found the answer on crackberry forums:

http://forums.crackberry.com/gps-mapping-f41/entering-gps-coordinates-manually-187641/

I have tested manually on an OS5 phone.

how to view a point, when you have the GPS coordinates.

  1. get the coordinates with lat, long format (ie 25.708987,55.814685)
  2. open BlackBerry Maps
  3. menu, Find, Advanced
  4. in the address, type in the lat, long and do the search
  5. the display is instantaneous.

How to send a location by email

  1. type in the email address with this format:
  2. http://maps.BlackBerry.com?lat=25.708987&lon=55.814685&z=2&label=MMFMMF
  3. send the mail
  4. receive the mail, and click on the link.
  5. it opens BlackBerry Maps, centered to the location, with an info-bubble containing "MMFMMF"

Re: GPS - BB pearl 9105

You can try two app. One is BB Traffic provides turn by turn directions by voice, and Second is BB Maps will provide graphic directions, and of course maps.

@ Eric_lewis

thank you for your proposition, but how does that answer the original poster's query (input GPS coordinates) ?
