Keypad Issue on 8110

Hello All,

Yesterday, the buttons on my keypad stopped working (kind of). For instance, when I press the number keys to dial a phone number, nothing happens, but I can press the call button, find a number in the list and dial it just fine. When I'm in a call, the volume buttons don't work. The keypad is not locked, so let's avoid that question please. I can press the 1 button and it dials my voicemail. I can listen to a message but can't delete it because when I press the 7 key, nothing happens. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Thanks

RickQ

Re: Keypad Issue on 8110

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!
