Re: Media Manager does not seem to install

Unfortunately a reinstall isn't an option. I may however see if I can roll the system back until just before I loaded the software on there the first time.

Re: Media Manager does not seem to install

It si hardly worth it as you can copy files back and fourth even without Media Manager and using Windows explorer. But since I sensed that you are good with komp it may take less time to do another reinstall then to troubleshoot this.

Re: Media Manager does not seem to install

Yeah i've been a Network/Computer/Server Engineer for about 15 years, that's what makes this so frustrating..lol.. As for copying the files over I can't do that either. The system recognizez that something is attached and gives you a "Removable Drive" and a driver letter like if you had a flash drive, but if you try and select the drive it will error and say "Please insert a disk into drive ##"...

Re: Media Manager does not seem to install

Here is an idea. Logon as local administartor on that desktop. Uninstall DM.
Delete or rename windows user profile used during install of DM. Then log back on as a previos user or use administrator account to install DM.
Log back on as a user and see if it all works.

Re: Media Manager does not seem to install

When it comes to drive issue, you need to enable mass storage mode under Options>Media Card in BB or else it won;t work.

Re: Media Manager does not seem to install

I did the local admin trick during one of the installs, that had the same results. I unfortunatly can't remove the profile becuase this is the laptop I use for work. That's what makes this aggrivating is because I use the camera on the phone to take picutures of vairous issues I have in telecommunications rooms so I need to be able to quickly get them off of my phone and into spreadsheets and documents. I had an 8100 that worked wonderfully until the trackball quit working, they replaced it with this 8110 and I ended up getting a new laptop around the same time and i've not been able to get them to play nice since.

Re: Media Manager does not seem to install

I checked out that site and noticed a difference from what the article stated. When I went to Device Manager the article said that I should see a RIM Mass storage device under the USB portion but I don't. I have some USB Mass Storage deviced and a BlackBerry Smartphone there. Any thoughts?
