New to the Blackberry World

Why does it take so long to view my photos that I have saved to my memory card?  There are quite a few pictures but it's REALLY slow.  Also, I'm not sure how to tell which version of software I have loaded to my phone...I just purchased it from an individual last night.

Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.4.xxx"

Also, look at OPtions > Status. What is your file free listed ?

Re: New to the Blackberry World

You have extremely LOW memory on that device.

Do this, with the device powered on, remove the battery about 30 seconds and replace it to reboot.

What is the file free now?

First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free? Now, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot. What is the File Free now?

Re: New to the Blackberry World

ok, but it doesn't matter what size the Media Card is IF you have also filled up the device memory.

(You can have a car with a tank full of gasoline, but empty of oil. Two different matters.)

On your BB, look at Options > Media Card...toward the bottom of the screen what does it show remaining of the Media Card.

Also, I have asked twice, after the battery pull and reboot, what is your Options > Status: File Free?

Re: New to the Blackberry World

Blackberry device has 2 types of memory.

1-st: Internal memory

2-nd: external micro-sd card memory.

It is strongly recommended to keep internal memory as free as possible.

This memory is using by device operating system to handle the device internals.

Transfer your files from internal memory to your micro-sd card.

Re: New to the Blackberry World

Sorry...I'm at work and got sidetracked..I did like you told me and removed the battery now the file free amount is 178388.  How do I transfer the files to the memory card?  This phone is so totally different than what I'm used to, so bear with me please.

Re: New to the Blackberry World

On your device open Media icon.

There will several icons appear: Pictures, Videos, etc.

Select Pictures icon, but do not open it.

When Pictures icon is selected open menu and click "Explore"

So, navigate between Media Card and Device Memory.

Use menu to transfer files.
