Hi and Welcome to the Forums....
Oh no. Bad. What happened is that you exhausted the number of allowed attempts to input the correct password. After the final failed attempt, it wipes the device completely clean -- kind of factory fresh. Everything you had (contacts, emails, calendar, etc.) will be gone. It is a security feature on (I think) all BB's. If you have recently done a backup, you can restore from that. If you have no backup...well, I'm sorry for your loss...

I haven't gone that far, but when I try to log on to my blackberry desk top. It will not allow my password, which is the password I use to get into my phone right? I have had to type blackberry. but I have stopped before I have exhauseted my tries. Why can I not get it to let me in to my blacberry desktop so I can manage my stuff on my phone? Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Hi!
You are probably typing what you think the password to be on the device, but because of the keyboard difference, it's not exactly the same. For instance, on some BB's, folks think that on the device they are typing "1234" for the device password -- when in reality is is ".adg" (for example). You need to know exactly what state your device keyboard is in (i.e., num lock or not, symbols or not, etc.) so that you can type the proper characters on your PC when you connect.
One thing that the BB should do is, after (I think) 5 tries, it will not mask the characters and will show them in clear text on the screen...then you can see exactly what they are and use that on the PC.
Good luck!

hello!
the same thing has happened to me, except i got my BB a week ago so i do not have that much information on it so its not a big deal if everything gets erased.
even though all my password attempts ran out and my phone erased everything can i still turn it on and start from scratch? or will i have to buy a new BB all together?

Hi and Welcome to the forums!
You will still be able to use it, it just will be as if you just received it. See this KB:
In future, it's always a good idea to regularly run a backup of your BB so that, if it (or something else) happens, you can recover:
Good luck and sorry for your troubles.
