I've had my Pearl 8110 for about a week now and if I leave it on standby overnight it is completely unresponsive in the morning--only replacing the battery forces the phone to restart.
I tried all of the regular solutions:
- holding down the mute key for 30 sec
- holding down power key for 30 sec
- pressing every combination of buttons
I have the latest available device software from my carrier AT&T (4.5.0.110).

Whle a battery pull reboot will certainly do it, pressing and holding the red end call key should turn it back on.
How is it that you are placing the device in Standby?

Holding the red end key does nothing.
I put it into standby by holding the mute key for a couple seconds.

I read your initial post. I know that. I said it "should".
There are later OS upgrades past .110 if you wish to upgrade further. That could fix the issue, I just am not sure.

Do you know of any links to newer OS versions? Or do you you think that maybe getting a new battery might solve the problem?
Thanks for you help!

I don't see how the battery could be any part of it. If the battery is charged, its charged.
I am not sure that an OS upgrade would help, but it could.
.124 OS is located here;
