It did work originally but not since upgrading to OS 6, though even that isn't 100% correct.
When pressed I hear a definite "click" to indicate the switch action, but if fails to launch the selected application (default camera). I've tried changing the application but none work, apart from Clock, and that only works the first time I try it after making the change, successive clicks won't launch it again.
I've tried removing the battery to reboot the device but no success.
Everything else seems to work fine.
Any ideas? ![]()

What is your Operating System loaded to your device? Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.6.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

Sorry, it can't be that. It is strange admittedly, more so because of the way it does occasionally work.
Thanks anyway.

Guess what.... it's working again ![]()
Just by chance I connected the handset to the Desktop Software app, and it showed an update available to (I think it said) a core application. So I installed it, and now I have the default camera on right key again. I haven't tried other apps to that key (don't want to push my luck).
I just hope that WAS the problem, and not just coincidence.

- Any technical boffins at RIM with any ideas....???
As you would have noticed upon your registration in this forum, and by the name of this forum, we are a user-to-user community forum. We are not RIM employees nor do RIM employees frequent the forum with the intent of providing techincal assistance. Your mobile service provider, by contract to RIM and to you, provides that service and when not resolved, can escalate the issue at no cost to you, to RIM level technical support.
So, it's just us regular boffins here.
Glad you got it working, good luck.

What app is that you're wanting to use on your convenience key?

Blackberry 9105
6.0 Bundle 2597 (v6.0.0.587, Platform 6.6.0.220)
It says:
Right Side Convenience Key Opens: Camera
The left side convenience key just works perfectly fine. What I can't understand is that why the other one doesn't launcgh the app selected. In this case, the camera. ![]()
Thank you for helping me out with this one.
