Should I use a BB 9100 Pearl 3G instead? Could I use apps such as FB, Twitter, etc. smoothly even without the subscription/plan to my service carrier (meaning through Wi-Fi only)? And It's OS is upgradeable from OS5 to OS6 right? I need your advices guys.. Thanks!

Hey theartistBB,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
The BlackBerry® Pearl™ 9100 series is 3G however to use those applications will require a BlackBerry® data plan from your network service provider. Also the BlackBerry® Pearl™ 9100 series comes with BlackBerry® 6.

Hi ViciousFerret,
Question. How come I have been able to use my BlackBerry® 8220 Pearl™ Flip's apps before just by using Wi-Fi? Sadly, my FB app (v. 1.7) hanged on the loading page one day and since then I have not been able to access my FB app however, I could still use my Twitter app via Wi-Fi. Why is this so?
I really love BBs (and I actually loved my 8220 before that event happened) but I don't like to subscribe to a data plan as it (FB, Twitter, etc.) is not used on a daily basis and I'd like to have an openline phone. Aren't there any alternatives?
And one more thing, are there any differences between the Pearl™ 9100 and the Pearl™ 9105 besides the keypad configuration?
I'm sorry if I ask a lot, I'm really curious if this phone is really meant for me or not. Hehe.
Thank you for responding!![]()

Hey theartistBB,
Depending on the network service provider you may be able to access Facebook or other applications via WiFi only. But I suggest getting a BlackBerry® data plan so you wont be limited to the applications.
The BlackBerry® Pearl™ 9100 and Pearl™ 9105 are the same device just different keyboard configurations.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
