Turn phone on and battery sign (cause by dropping phone in water)

So I accidentally got my phone wet..it was really messed up at first and wouldnt turn on..after a while in the sun it would turn on only to come to a screen with a battery sign with one red slash through it..ive tried charging it..nothing seems to work..I really need the numbers out of my phone..its very important!

Someone have this problem before..help!

I'm very sorry to hear that :smileysad: Bad luck mate!!

 

Well try with another battery from other device to see whether your device gets power or not. If that fails then think about a new phone. Again if the device starts working then buy another battery. You'll be one of the luckiest individual!!!

That means there is faulty connections/ or your battery has been drained. In this case, try to remove the batt and clean the pin connectors with solvent before blow dry them. Hope this helps.

I just fixed my T-Mobile BB 8100 with same symtoms.

After trying reload its software with BB Desktop Manager, it said "there is no available software for your phone" and gave me a link to download. Go through that to T-Mobile website, download and execute the BB 8100 soft, reopen the BB Desktop Manager, reload the software and "voilà".

Hope this helps, even one year or 18 months old.
