Viewing text messages with a laptop

I'm a helicopter pilot/reporter for a local TV station and we send messages back and forth via text messages. (we FINALLY got rid of our pagers and the "competition" monitors our 2-way to see where we are flying to on breaking news so we try to avoid talking on the radio)

I have a laptop (using a moving map GPS for navigation). Is there a way to view the text messages I'm getting and/or receiving on my BB Pearl on the laptop?

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: Viewing text messages with a laptop

There are some 3rd party software (like, ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter) which can help you out in reading .ipd (backup) files. But in reading/sending text messages staright from device in a computer is not possible.

Re: Viewing text messages with a laptop

Thanks!  I did find one product that would work for me. It was from a company called Bayalink. Basically it was a thumb drive that you plugged into your laptop and it talked to your BB via blue tooth. But they wanted $100 a year for the licence!

Here is their link:

Re: Viewing text messages with a laptop

Thanks for the info. I never heard of such devices availability.
