Last night I updated my 8120 with the latest software available to me, which was the v45.0.124.  Before this, when I would go in to my camera it said I had about 40 or so pics.  Now, after updating, I have 0 pictures left.  I checked my bytes and it says I had over 9 million and when I plugged my phone into the Desktop Manager it said I had 21MB left.  My question is why cant I save any pictures or ringtones now?!

No, its strictly the memory on the phone.

Go to options, status copy the file free.

Perform a hard reset as listed below.

Go back to status and copy the file free again.

Pleae post both numbers.

No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON.
Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed.

Hello again!!

My file free before the reset was 10,771,034 and afterwards it is 12,324,790.

I think I may have figured out my problem lol, I hope this was it!!  I went into my camera --> view pictures --> options --> device memory limit.  I then changed that from 5MB to 12MB and changed the Reserved Pictures Memory to 2MB.  Perhaps the settings got changed during the update???

That explains the pictures.

I strongly suggest you get a media card.

10.2721 megabyte is what you had before reset,

11.7538 megabyte is what you had after.

 64 megabytes is what your phone has total.

15mb would be considered minimum for your phone to function correctly.

I would suggest the following articles and keeping your memory around 20mb

Just a tip, most people close the applications by pressing the escape or red key. This does not close the applications.

Each application has a close or exit option. For instance if you are in the calendar hit the menu key (spotted key) and scroll down to the bottom close is listed. You can see what is running by using the switch application option in the main menu.

Yes I definitely need a memory card.  I will be getting one of those asap knowing the my memory in fact is running low!!  I was not aware of actually exiting the application!!  I will make sure to completely exit rather hitting the arrow button!!  Thanks so very very much!!
