Hi I got a new blackberry curve 3g a month ago. Recently the battery has been starting to act up..it dies completely in 6 hours! No bluetooth on(I never use it) I don't have a data plan, so no bbm on or whatever , wifi is barely on ( battery starts to die within the one hour I take it off the charger - about 85 percentt battery life) does this mean the battery must be changed ?

are you using the antenna of your device? What is written in the top right corner of the home screen?

are you sure ? What is displayed when you press the menu key for two seconds ? You should only have 5 icons:

• Home scree
• browser
• phone
• messages
• BBm

can you try turning the network connections off (3G + Wifi + Bluetooth) during the next night and see if the battery still drops?

Thank you sooo much for helping me . I never have my wifi or bluetooth on, and I only have those 5 apps running . Before I used to have more which is why it lasted 6 hours ..now it lasts 10 hours ..which is still not enough because it still doesn't last a day. I'm really starting to think its my battery ..but it didn't act this way when I first got the phone . What do you think?

I'm having the same problem, I only have 3G turn on and the battery only last for 4 to 6 hours.
Even when I travel by plane and turn the device off the battery is lost, for example I turn off the device with 75% of battery after 3h I turn the device on with only 25% of battery remaining

i got used to that by now... my phone dies in a day..

but on top of that, i've had my phone for a year now..it's beginning to s hut down randomly sometimes, and the speaks don't really work anymore. i HATE blackberry's , a lot of people are moving to iphones. if i had money i'd get an iphone.

Mine is the same !
its only 2months old, not even!
just suddenly fone battry only lasts 2-4 hours tops!
and iv bought 2 batterys and tryed them so its nothing to do with them,

all running apps closed, wifi/bluetooth off

its desperate considering the phone is £150

if i cant get it sorted it will soon find its way through a window
