blank screen

Hi, I've just received an 8100 for the first time and the screen doesn't seem to work. When I turn on the phone the screen just becomes white and empty, I can't see the software or what I'm dialing or any information for that matter. I tried to update the software using the Device Manager version 4.7 and I downloaded and installed the BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.139. But when I tried to update the Device Manager, the Application Loader says "no software is available for your device." Any idea how I can solve this and get my Blackberry working perfectly? I can still receive calls (and send them if I know a number by heart).

You bought a used device? You got a dud, with a bad LCD screen. My advice would be to return it for your money back.

Yeah, I was afraid it might be that. Luckily I was able to return it under an RMA and should be getting a replacement. Thanks guys!
