Hello to everybody. I can not find what is the maximum microSD card capacity that can be used in BlackBerry Pearl 8100. Does anyone can help with this? Thank you in advance.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
SD card maximum sizes is not a function of device model. Rather, it is a function of device OS level...see this KB:
Hope that helps!

One last question. Is Pearl supports High Capacity (SDHC) standard? Because I was warned that if device is not HC capable it just woun't work.
Thank you in advance,

I don't know...the only RIM documentation I know of is that the SD card size is limited by the version of the device OS. An SD card being HC or not is merely a matter of how large a capacity it has...
That being said, if the RIM instructions say that a device OS will support a certain sized SD card, then if that size takes it into the HC realm, I'd see no obvious reason to doubt that. Then again, I can't be 100% since I've never had your specific device in my hands to try.
Good luck!

Thanks a lot!
very usefull article on wiki. I found an answer there:
"SDHC cards will not work in devices designed to the older SD 1.x specification. BB site says that only Pearl 8130 is SDHC ready".
Anyway, there is a sign of hope, in the same wiki article:
"Some devices can support SDHC through a firmware upgrade". And probably it was done in device software v4.5
So, probably the best thing is to go to shop and try ![]()
Thanks again,
Andriy
