Ok. Those "holes" are actually USB "ports".
Rebooted your laptop and tried again to connect?
Try a different desktop PC?

Haha ok, i did, i've been trying to connect since yesterday booted and rebooted, i tried connecting to a mac and click repair but it keeps on failing, i also tried wipe it with mac but i'm not sure if it works since the instruction doesn't tell if it works or not, but my blackberry did blinks red led three times in a row for abt a minute but then it went dead again, is it a sign of life?

Try the connection with the battery out, with the battery in, and with placing the battery in during the first JL_Cmder attempt to connect.
