Re: red light flashing and phone wont turn on

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):

  1. With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.

Good luck and let us know!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

That's only one small portion of the entire set of tests above. Please review and try them all.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: red light flashing and phone wont turn on

OK...so you leave me to guess. Fine. I can only deduce that the 4h15m process did not result in your BB starting up properly. And further that your BB did not start up using a truly "known good" battery (note carefully that this is NOT "new"). And further still that another "known good" BB could not start up with your battery. That is the only totally failed result possible from all that I gave you, and since you won't say, such is all that I can guess on.

Consequently, I can only deduce that your BB has somehow been damaged, and requires in-person evaluation by a qualified BB hardware technician.

Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Well, after the 4th step, you proceed to the 5th step, right? Maybe I don't understand your confusion. And neither steps 4 nor 5 have anything about waiting 2 hours...that wait time is on steps 2 and 6. So I am rather confused by your report here.

As the post says, this has been know to kick start SOME BBs...not all, but SOME. If yours did not start using that 4h15m process, then you proceed to the second half of that post...the battery swap test, and conduct that EXACTLY as written.

Good luck and let us know!
