We were told that it was good for the phone if the battery were removed and put back in so it can reboot. I did that and I can't get the phone back on! Sometimes (not everytime) I'll get the red light to come on, but still nothing. I tried inseerting another bb battery from a Curve and when the red light came on, I held the 'end call' button and then when it went off I held the green 'make call' button and teh screen displayed a battery with a line through it. That same battery works fine in the curve so I am just confused about what else I should be trying.
did you try to insert the pearl-battery and connect it to the wallcharger? maybe the battery is completly empty.
does the screen display something?

This sounds like a tech problem, it is very good to remove the battery from your phone every now and then, I take mine out about once a week but if this is happening then for other reasons ur phone mite be broke, try ur service providers cust support and get it sent back for replacment if ur warranty is still good
