question from newbie (owner of 1st BB just for a week):

I didn't buy 9105 from operator, I bought it unbranded from an wholesaler ..

so I don't have a backup OS :-( Can I find a one somewhere/somehow ??

so can I use any (at the moment Aircel for OS6) + delete vendor info and it should work?

Yap, that's how I have done it and there was no problem at all. Good luck and don't forget to make a backup before...

I have a BB Pearl 9105 3G on the 3UK network. They have just released the OS 6 update for all of their handsets (eg Curve 3G 9300 etc) apart from the Pearl 9105 3G?

Does anyone know why this is or if they intend on releasing an update in the future?

I the meantime will I be OK to upgrade using the links in the previous threads (deleting the vendor file etc)?

If I do so will it effect my warrenty? Also, after the upgrade to OS6, will I still be able to use the skype application that you can only downlaod and use if you are with 3UK?

No. That's a common myth. It may affect your ability to receive support, including warranty support. Carriers certify the OS's that they allow their customers to run on their network. So, they may refuse you support. But, all you have to do is fall back to their certified version and they would provide support again.

You'd have to ask the developer of the app that question. In general, you can only use apps that are ported to your BB model and OS level. If they have done so, then yes. If they have not done so, then no.

Hi,

     I have a BB Peal 3g 9105, i brought in on a reseller in singapore airport so it's unlocked, any idea how can i upgrade it to os6?

i've tried upgrading by folowing the "http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste..." but it does't seems to be working for me.
