can i connect to the wifi without a dataplan?

Yes.

 

You can use the WiFi hotspot browser (Options > Advanced > Browser > set and save to Hotspot).

Now you can use the browser to surf the internet anytime connected to a WiFi router.

 

You can also use some limited third party applications (like Pandora Radio). You will not have email push to the device, nor Messenger, Maps, etc., or any apps using BlackBerry Data functions.

just got my 9100 3g pearl... having same issue - can't access the net via wifi...(i turned mobile data  service off' as AT&T will charge $ per KB.

 

the phone runs 6.0 OS and i can't see the same menu as you suggested below.

 

Options > Advanced > Browser >

 

my options, i see my other things but not advanced or browser...

Hi,

Are you sure?

I connected my curve 2 to my wifi when i got it.

It did everything my data plan could do.

 

I have tried recently to do the same again, but now it connects but mail dosent work nor messenger or any other app.

What can i do?

Correct, this not available on the 9810, which is why I have answered your other thread correctly.

I tried going to browser/options/configuration/choosing hotspotbrowser 

and i turned off the data service plan to connect to wifi and everytime i visit the browser i keep getting this message "unable to connect to the internet please try again later ,if the problem persists please contact your service provider'

 

 

when i tries calling my serivce provider ,i still had no clue what to do
