It is often useful to copy URLs or other text from a website, e.g the forum page or other apps like a bing map's coordinates by highlighting and saving the selection to my memo document.
When I try to tap the screen to invoke the 'select' icon I get often these three un-wanted responses:
a) jumps right away to that particular URL link and I don't get a chance to copy it
b) the selection icon does not open at all or very reluctantly
c) the screen changes its size
How about to let me open the select icon also by touching first any edge and then while holding on to the edge tap with my other finger where I want to open the selection. This' twofold' touch should then disable the other a,b,c events?
I also miss out on selecting text areas on a website because there is no left hand mouse button around. Again this could become a 'twofold' approach?
Is there a solution today?

If you press and hold on the URL it brings up the context menu that allows you to copy or open the link in another tab.
Is that what you are looking for?
