Hi, I'm about to order a Samsung Micro HDMI to VGA adapter:

Unlike the Hp adapter, it shouldn't need any other cable to connect the Playbook with a projector. Has anyone already tried the solution? Could you confirm that works?
Many thanks,
M

Thanks Xandrex,
Yes, the item in the picture is a male micro HDMI-to-female VGA, but I think this is fine, because usually projectors in offices are already provided with a male cable to connect an input to their port. The problem I'm concerned with is that you need a power unit embedded into the cable. That's why the Hp cable works. The problem with that cable is that it has a normal HDMI input, so you need another adaptor to connect it to the Playbook...
Bye,
M

To me the concept looks the same. I have the HP version and have made it work through a series of adpaters and patch cords. From the site I went to from your initial posting, it looks like all you need is the standard male to male patch cord that (like you have said) comes with most / all projectors. I think you will be good to go with less cost than than the HP

Thanks, I'll let you know if the theory is correct as soon as the cable arrives.
Cheers,

You'll need a MICRO-HDMI. The cable you show is regular HDMI

Samsung has a micro-HDMI to VGA. I've ordered one of those, but it was more expensive than what was available on ebay.
