A very big chance for RIM to beat Apple

RIM should bring out a smartphone version of the Playbook, with LTE, right now. Because, Apple are bringing out a 7-inch tablet.
Here is the G&M article
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/small-business/sb-digital/innovation/forget-the-ip...

Therefore, instead of lagging, the Playbook could be obviously the better choice, with its better OS, etc. What say you?

Very little or no lag on the PlayBook.. look at the great browser scores here from the browser testing.

As for the release of the Playbook LTE, it was four days ago.

http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/02/rim-tips-august-9th-blackberry-playbook-4g-lte-canadian-release/

to quote the article:

Running the SunSpider web browser benchmark, we saw the JavaScript processing time cut by 35 percent versus the WiFi version to 1,397ms, making it faster not just than the WiFi PlayBook but the iPad, the Nexus 7, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and even the quad-core Galaxy S III smartphone. Our personal experience also showed that the browser didn't have much trouble keeping up with complex pages. We're not sure what RIM slipped into the PlayBook 4G LTE's diet to make its browsing so quick, but we'd like to try some.

Pretty cool, eh?

Not in Canada yet, plus the RIM pages only show a 32GB version.

Wow. It is. Why argue about it?

At Bell.

At Rogers.

At Telus.

So, what say you? :Innocent:

Re: A very big chance for RIM to beat Apple

Hi folks,

Also note that 4G LTE PlayBook has faster CPU. :smileyhappy:

Smartphone version of the PlayBook's called BlackBerry 10. It'll be available for customers at the beginning of 2013.
Respectfully,

Re: A very big chance for RIM to beat Apple

At the time I checked, the Canadian RIM pages only said the LTE was upcoming.

I shall be going to my local Telus to look, but won't be buying one because it only has 32GB. There would have been a sale with a 64!

Blackberry_LTE_in_Canada.jpg

What came into my facebook box today. Just out in Canada.
Still comes with a holding area of 32GB and NO 64GB is likely. Not good.

That was according to Telus, but what do they know, because for a while they stopped stocking the Playbook? It isn't in there so far.
