Re: Android Apps on playbook

Download A BAR file from wherever.

Install Local bar to PlayBook and Blackberry.

Wifi on and both devices conencted to wifi

Development Mode switch on (playbook)

Open Localbar on Blackberry and check "Started"
Check ip address shown.

Open Localbar on PlayBook
Enter same ip address into "proxy", device password you entered on PlayBook

Select Bar on left and click install on the right.

Issues:
Sometimes it wont install, just try again
Sometimes the "started" status on BlackBerry will not show, Click BlackBerry button and close... re open local bar app.
Sometimes the Localbar app derps on PlayBook and just randomly closes... just re open :smileyhappy:

Re: Android Apps on playbook

The thing that anoie's me is that we shouldnt have to be doing all the work ourselves. I am so dissapointed that Blackberry have hardley any usefull apps that you can get with their phones etc. One of the first things i searched for on the app store was Skype, MSN, Whatsapp. All three of them have not been developed for the Playbook.

I could go on but I won't. Don't get me wrong I love my PB, but there is much room for improvment.

I can see them developing the PB2 with all the fetures we wish for the current one, its a little harsh for the people who have bought the original PB if you ask me.

Anyway, there was my rant lol.

Re: Android Apps on playbook

www.faceflow.com is every bit as good as skype. You access it through your browser. It is the same as skype. Skype can only talk to skype. Faceflow can only talk to Faceflow. Ask your fiends to join, it's free. The benefit is that it allows conference calling (you have to pay for that if you want to do that on skype).

Playbook to PC. PC to playbook. No app yet, but the developers are almost there. Make a favourites in the browser.

Hope this helps

Regareds

Ross
