BB Playbook Hotmail Calendar app stopped opening

Hello, The email and contact apps open and  sync up fineon my Playbook. But, for the calendar, the initial circle keeps going around and the app never opens.

Have you tried to restart the PlayBook

 

Tap the battery icon on the top right and then tap RESTART, or you can just hold the power button for 30 seconds

Thank  you rat-7 for replying.

Restarting was the first thing I tried, both restart and shutdown/start.  No luck. 

I removed the hotmail account, hoping the Calendar would open just on local. That didn't work either.

 After reading other entries about base image apps not working (not specific to Calendar)  I ended up reinstalling the OS.

The Calendar works now. However, having to do that then reconfigure is annoying and time consuming. 

Here's hoping the problem doesn't resurface.
