"No mention of PlayBook" -- CTVNews @ BB10 launch. This pretty much sums it up for me.

Did it occur to you that this show was not about the Playbook?

I thought it was about BB10.

I'll rephrase then: "No mention about BB10 on the PlayBook."

Even though the event was all about the launch of the new phone using BB10, we did hear that skype and kindle are working with the BB10 phones that give a glimmer that maybe the programs will work some day with the Playbook, it is after all the same OS (QNX) on both device

there is a lot of red tape BlackBerry has to cut through -- all carrier and FCC dependent.

The issue is whether Skype on BB10 phones can support wifi or works on carrier provided service ony. Can someone find this out?  Let's face it most of us still have wifi only Playbook's.

Exactly, while the carriers are cutting thru the red tape, lets have it on our old playbooks - just like OS updates have been since 4G playbooks.  The whole exercise was to put Playbook OS QNX onto smartphones, so it should be ready for us wifi only users at the same time or very soon, surely?

Re: BB10 and the PlayBook

Guess what?  UK gets the Z10 tomorrow! No red tape here!

Guess what else?  RIM are no longer called RIM. Rebranded to plain "Blackberry".
