BBC I PLAYER ASKING FOR FLASH PLAYER BUT ALREADY INST

I have BB Play book, fully updated software, flashplayer installed and switched on.

When on bbc i player (app on playbook) it will not play, asks for flashplayer .

Has the bbc stoped supporting the play books? 

The bbc site states device not compatable?

Can any one help, i used it fine up till 3days ago.

I now get that message with stock browser. Says download Flash from Android market!

Origami browser plays ok on default browser agent settings.  try that. It's free and it's superb.

 

One day our flash version will be obsolete, and without an os update so will playbook be obsolete.

I will try that, it's a pitty there will be no more updates for the play book.

There may be updates, but we don't know as they are silent.

 

The error is bbc's but it's a symptom of playbook's tiny userbase that the bbc thinks we are android. I expect they will make yet another "improvement" to the iplayer.

I've started getting this, too - very recently. It's basically rendered my PlayBook rather useless as iPlayer was about the only thing I was using it for...

 

That... and Catchup TV, which now also won't play. (Gives me the same 'Flash/Android' message.

 

Having bought another PlayBook upon the announcement that they'd roll out BB10 for it - to then be told a couple of months later that they wouldn't be - I really AM a very unhappy long-time BB user. I have the Z10, which I think is pretty good... but I feel so cheated (money and time) by the company now that it's the end of the line for me. I really hope that the BBC (or whoever) gets iPlayer to once again work on the PBOS.

It was working again yesterday.

Origami browser on default desktop settings always worked throughout this fiasco.

yup its a bum deal,

  I think my PB is a good tool, I use it most of the time for checking mail, and bbc iplayer.

So i miss catching up on the missed raidio shows and the odd bit of TV.

And having BB phone just makes it a nice wee package for thoes who do not like all things Apple.

On a side note it still works on other sites ie chanel 5, ITV etc and i can listen to live raidio.

So not a total loss,

Mabe if they sell out the new owners may carry out the updates, we live in hope.

A quick update, i just tried using bbc i player and guess what... It's working again.
Very strange, maybe someone is listening?

Yes I just said above it started working recently. It was BBC'S fault not playbook's.

Yes I did see that you had success, that's why I had ago again, thanks!

I did contact the BBC and explained the problem,

Do you think they respond if they get enough complaints? Well Thanks for the help.

I wish I had used the forum earlier when I got the PB, good advice and guidance for those not so converse with all things software.
