Called support and reinstalled the os (again) seems to be working now. I also let the piwer run out and then plugged it into a different outlet
Hopefully problem solved.

May I suggest that you remove your phone number of the "My Carrier/My Mobile Provider" section of your profile here on the forum. Placing that personal info on a widely public forum like this is not wise.

 

Toward the top of this forum page > My Settings > Personal Profile > Personal Information and at My Device, delete your phone number.

a faulty charger can do this and has on my son's playbook before.

 

A dirty DC signal is capable of raising the capacitence of the screen causeing it to do random stuff.

 

Try a diff charger
