Re: BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1526 now available

Don't run the update. Totally screws up the browser with some streaming video. I was fine until I ran the update. I spent about 4 hours on the phone with BlackBerry and they cannot figure out what happened. When is the the update coming so our Playbook works with our Z10? That's what I want to know.

Not for all. Maybe so for you. Not for me and any of my PlayBooks.

Don't know what you're asking.

Is it the Bridge app you're asking about? No one hear knows when Bridge will be compatible.

Re: BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1526 now available

I'm so annoyed right now I have to post.....

Just plugged my PB into my comp and before the Desktop Manager could actually connect to the PB it insisted I install the OS update, which I willingly did, the update was downloaded and applied with the PB restarting a couple of times and low and behold the PB has been completely reset, wiped clean, blown away, it's even dropped teh original PB HD Demo video back on that I removed over a year ago.

Lot's of photos I took last week.... gone

Some voice notes I made last week..... gone

Application settings and saved files.... gone

And all I was doing was plugging in to do a back-up, but didn't get the option to.

Re: BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1526 now available

That's a real piss off. If I could find someone to buy my z10 and Playbook that would be the end of BlackBerry for my business. No end of trouble and promises. I gave up on this forum a month ago. No help here just a of of bitching about BlackBerry....well have fun. no way to go back to the previous version either. I stream world snooker from England live and before my update I could carry my Playbook anywhere in the house and outside and it would work perfect the minute I did the update it has never worked since
Freezes my browser and I have to reboot.

Mike1507, Was there no warning that all files would be deleted?

Too late now but what the next person faced with this should do is not accept the update, close the sofyware, drag important files to the computer using File manager or Finder (Mac). If you can't do that with USB, set up wifi sharing and do it.

Then go back and do the update because as you say the desktop software will not let you do anytbing til you do.

It's unacceptable and needs to be fixed. Happens too often.

No warning at all sadly, it was just please leave the device connected while the os is updated blah blah blah. Im gobsmacked that this happens and there is no support from blackberry themselves for any probable recovery procedures.

There is no recovery from this. The flash memory has been wiped. Gone.

We fellow users and volunteers try to help. We can't change what BB have done, only help you with workarounds. The bitching is from people who we can't help, or won't be helped.

There is nothing wrong with this update, but updates sometimes fcuk up. Try a debrick (look it up).

Re: BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1526 now available

I plugged my Playbook into my computer today and willingly installed the OS update; however, it will not load the contract agreement for me regardless of which country / language I select. Instead, it returns this message:

"Unable to display the BlackBerry ID Agreement.

Please select your country and language, then try again."

Under Country, it only gives me the option 'None Selected' followed by a blank space below it.

It won't let me select 'I Agree' or go farther than this screen, regardless of reboot method. Essentially, this OS update has bricked my Playbook... has anyone else run into this problem at all? It's extremely annoying.
