My Swann Home Security system (8 port) Costco DVR-8CIF ,works great with my home Windows PC and my BB Style for remote monitoring, and now I can say that it also works with my Playbook. . For the people who were asking, if it works, Yes it is basically the same settings as the mobile BB phone settings.
All you need to enter is the IP address of the DVR
The actual name of the DVR device (in your DVR settings)
the mobile port
and your user name and password that you use to log into the DVR

DVR is a Digital Video Recorder. In this case its used for video surveilance. The Swann unit I use comes with the cameras and you can use up to 8 cameras for monitoring your entrance's backyard, front yard, etc. etc. These have motion detection which you can calibrate by using mapping to detect motion in cetain areas. I have had mine for 2 years and its still working great. For use with your BB cell phone or playbook, please refer to the settings I have successfully used in my previous post.
Should have mentioned in my previous post that you do have to set your routers firewall DMZ to enable other it will not work.

@Xandrex
On the Playbook App its the same as on the Cell
(following from DVR Menu)
Device name
IP Address
Mobile Port
User ID
Password.
Make sure you use the Mobile Port for your Playbook and cell phone, and use the Media port .for your Windows Computer (if you have a windows one) Don't know about Mac computers.
I did not have to change anything on my Playbook. Every setting was put on the App.
Works for me.

I have tried the ASee https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/s
on my BB cell phone and it worked fine but am currently using the SwanView since its available for my BB Style. SwannView is not available for the Playbook so I use ASee.
SwanView gives more detail and appears to be more fluid.

I have tried the ASeeHD version. I don't see any difference in the functions.
Both ASee and ASeeHD work on the Playbook though. Just in case you were wondering I do have multiple camera working so it does work with more than 1 camera, not as a review I read stated.
Hope that helps.
