Bridge email issue

From day 1 till I updated the OS on Sunday, i had no issues with the bridge email. Since then, when opening my email from either the icon or from the notification in the top left, the window opens blank white with the green loading icon, then the screen goes gray for a moment...then back to the loading screen then back to gray. In the end my email never loads. Is anyone else experiencing this, or have a fix? So far i have had fun finding fixes and work arounds for the playbook, but this is really frustrating!

Re: Bridge email issue

I had something similar, not after an upgrade, it just happened. A hard reboot fixed it. Simple to try, just hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. Hope it works.

Re: Bridge email issue

I did try a soft reboot using the restart option as well as a hard reboot using the shut down option. I believe holding the power button down for 10 seconds is the equivalent of a shut down. I did try you suggestion and it unfortunately didn't work either. I've also redownloaded bridge and re-paired the devices to no avail. I searched for options within my torch that my cause my emails to be encrypted or protected in some way. Not really too many options in that dept on the PB yet. Hopefully its just a glitch and goes away, but its the 3rd day now. Might fix itself on the next OS release as well. Thanks for your thoughts Maynewave!

Re: Bridge email issue

Thank you knottyrope for your suggestion as well. I truely have tried every troubleshooting idea I could think of. I did try re-pairing the devices as well, but not to the detail of this workaround document. I took this document step by step and still no luck. The problem doesn't lie within the bridge itself, its ONLY the email and it seems to be trying to retrieve the email only for a glitch within the bridge email app to cause it to do what is described above. Only 2 things I can think of are an issue with the app itself due to the OS upgrade and its been corrupted or some very strange setting I would assume would more likely give me an error than this glitch. I wish the individual apps could be downloaded from the PB app world as I would delete and add the app again...

Re: Bridge email issue

What OS are you running on torch? On your device, type in a new message MYVER and a space after to see and report back please.

Re: Bridge email issue

I am running same version with out issue.

Possible to delete all BT pairings, reset tablet holding power button 10 seconds

Battery pull please, with the BlackBerry Smartphone powered ON, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot device. This will clear all cache like rebooting a PC. Then try again and see if your problem persists.

Then after both are rebooted, pair up and try again.

Re: Bridge email issue

This was the first thing I tried to do when troubleshooting the issue. I have tried it again, but it did not work. Good to know its not the updates to the OS of my torch I made last week since your running the same version. It seems as though the application for bridge email is corrupted. Only problem I can think of...

All other bridge apps are working normally, so one would surmise its not likely to be an issue with the bridge pairing anyways. This error seems as though its exclusive to the email. I have even tried tinkering with the settings of the bluetooth MAP options

Re: Bridge email issue

I would give playbook support a call and report back the findings.

the call is free
