Bridge mail starts and shuts in a loop on Playbook

Dear all,

 

All of a sudden my bridge mail flickers white (looks like start and shut down of bridge mail in a loop) instead of opening.

BB is 9900 and PB has latest OS (2).

Is there a known problem?

 

I already experienced the same when i used OS 2 Beta and the workaround with the app "Bridge OS2 alternative" does now work as well.

 

I appreciate any hint before I start reinstalling everything.

I had this happen once or twice. I haven't figured out if it a email some sort of format that causes the bridge email a problem or something else. 

 

But i think I checked the email on my phone and deleted the new email(which happened to have html in the email) and then the bridge email opened OK.

 

The other time I think I removed the bridge association on the playbook and phone and then reconnected them.

 

Also make sure you have the newest bridge version for the 9900. It should be 2.0.0.26

It is a bad code in the html email. Sometimes doing what the above poster states will work but a security wipevis needed if that doesn't. Work.

Hi guys,

 

Thanks for the information. I deleted a big bunch of mails but no joy so far.

What I do not understand is why email is displayed when I start it using the tool (that actually takes a bypass by using some ip address) and where the defective html coded mails causes no pain. HmSmiley Mad.

Security wipe is hard, i assume i start then by zero with the PB. That really sucks.

 

Any more hints to avoid dropping the wipe bomb are appreciated!

Gentlemen,

 

Just to figure out if an email is responsible for this desaster I deleted approx 200 mails today and nothing changed. Actually I do not know if a wipe fixes my problem.

You should try removing the bridge app from your phone and then reinstalling it.

 

I hate this type of a "fix", but I think that is what I eventually did to get mine working.

Just deinstalled Bridge on the 9900, reinstalled it and... Still same problem

Today I deleted the PB within bridge on my 9900 and reconnected the devices afterwards. Also no success

I have had this problem since day one. The only fix is a security wipe. Forget about deleting the bridge It DOES NOT WORD.

I previously had the problem too with the OS2 beta and then awipe fixed it, that is somewhat understadable.

But now it happened all of a sudden.

In the meantime I deleted another approx 200 mails AND installed the new PB OS update that just was released.

Still no change.

Wiping is no option since it took me months to make the PB as it is right now and I do not know what it takes me to make it as it was before.

 

Isn't this a Blackberry support forum? Where are the geeks from RiM to help me out of this thing? I doubt I am the only one with this happening. Just "Hey dude, if it flickers just wipe that thing" cannot be the only answer.
