Bug - disappearing contacts

It is very disappointing to loose contacts added via the Playbook.  It seems like contacts added are lost after 90 days or so, like emails.

Be nice if the Playbook could maintain (keep) contacts and emails on the playbook.

The Playbook isn't very useful if data keeps being lost (dropped).

You don't say if you are using contacts sync'd with webmail like hotmail, (like you are supposed to. )

Assuming you are sync'd,

Emails remain for a specified time, in my case on Live Mail I have it set for 30 days (the max)

Contacts remain for ever or until you delete them.

Calendar entries last for ever or until you delete them.

Any entries added to local non-sync'd calendar or contacts were wiped by the 2.1 date.

IMAP has its own rules. Avoid.

Re: Bug - disappearing contacts

Using yahoo/sbc email and haven't noticed email address or contacts added to Playbook being added.

Been using Playbook as stand alone device, guess that was a mistake. Didn't see the specs suggesting data would be lost.

Re: Bug - disappearing contacts

I have never seen release notes for any OS update. And anyway I guess they don't publish bugs in the release notes.

Yahoo is I think IMAP, that's two reasons to avoid it, the first reason being it's Yahoo.

Hotmail reigns supreme. Did I  think I would ever say that?!

Re: Bug - disappearing contacts

yahoo does support EAS which is so much better than IMAP

I have used EAS on a google account and it has worked out very well.

I do not know what EAS or IMAP are exactly, but I know that POP3 is working very well with the Playbook
