Hi, haven't been able to connect to the app world to update or add any applications. Can get on the internet just fine, anyone with the same problem, or perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

Yes, re-started unit. Get message " Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again." even after re-start.

I should mention that I just received the unit and updated it's operating system to the latest. Could there be a problem with the new operating system? Anyone else have this problem?

what OS is it on?
i am on latest 18.104.22.1688 and can connect.
I would reboot your wifi router as well. Mine locks up once in a while as it is ol.d

I am on latest also. 22.214.171.1248.
My unit updated automatically at home when first turned on and can connect to Internet either at home or at work.
Can't understand why it can't update individual programs or why I can't download any apps. As stated above I get a misleading statement about internet connectivity and that is not it.
Two days of playing and starting to get frustrated.

I can understand your frustration, i have had my fair share of issues with electronics.
try a 3 button reset hold power and both vol keys for 20 seconds and try again.
odd you can surf the internet but cant access app world.
wonder if maybe a port is blocked at work? but odd it wont work at home.
You do have 90 free support if you want it from RIM. They helped me with an issue before.
