Since I upgraded both the latest versions on both the Desktop Software and the Playbook I cannot connect the Playbook to the PC, In the DS it asks for the upgrade of the latest version of the tablet (which is the same already installed), and if I try ot install it anyway through the DS it aborts it after a few minutes. I have always been able to connect and sync mhy Playbook in the past, I don´t have any problems syncing with my handheld device. I have tried different cables as well. Thanks for the help anybody can provide

possible you need to uninstall Device Manager, not Desktop Software.
Disconnect the PB from the computer.
Uninstall the Device Manager.
Reboot your computer (for good measure)
Connect the PB using the USB cable.
Now you should see a PlayBook CD-ROM.
In that CD-ROM you will find version 7 of the Device Manager, install it.
Once installed disconnect the PB from the computer.
Wait for about 15 seconds then plug it back in.
Windows should detect new device and start Device Manager. It may take up to two minutes for windows to detect and properly install.
Then device manager will map 'z' drive to the PB.
