I'm using a Playbook and Torch using Bridge and I can't seem to view docx or xlsx files from the playbook from email attachments (cannot confirm if I can view from any other source).. I have no problems opening any other files from the playbook (pdf, doc, xls etc) and my torch has no problem opening all files including docx and xlsx.. Any idea why this would be happening?..
Any help would be appreciated..

There is an error... After downloading the attachment from the email, it will attempt to open the file and prompt me with
"This file cannot be opened."

I never saw any firm resolution to this question. I have similar issue although my error message is more specific (no error code though) and says, "This file cannot be opened because it is not a valid MS Word 97-2008 file." I can open the file with Word to Go on my BB Bold and it opens through Word 2007 on my laptop. Any help? Is there a way to update the Doc to Go programs or is this checked with the regular Playbook software updates?

Yesterday I as reading on CB where someone was having a problem with email attachments. So I did a test and sent myself 4 different email with small attachments, .pdf, .docx, .xls and .xlsx. I was able to open all expect the one that had a .xlsx attachment. When I tried to open it it said "Attachment not on media card"
I contacted PlayBook tech support and was told this is a known issue they are working on and will address in an upcoming update.
For the time being the work around is to open it on you phone and save it to your media card, then on the PlayBook got to the Bridge Files and you will be able to open it there.

Same solutions that I have come up with. Besides saving to your media card (e.g., when your corporate enterprise policy is to lock in the encryption on the card) you can send to a POP3 mail server like hotmail, gmail, etc., read your e-mail through the browser and read/download on your Playbook from there. The problem seems to be with the bridge. A hassle for now but it works.

Now let's try this on your device and see if it works...
We first need to delete the Bluetooth profiles from the Playbook and BlackBerry smartphone.
Now let's select the permissions for the applications for the Bridge to this:
In connections, select Allow
In interactions select Custom
In user Data seelect Allow
After that we need to go to Bluetooth , Map Options , Uncheck all email addresses
Go to Bluetooth, Options and select Enable encryption
Go to Bluetooth and select Enable Discoverable, and reestablish the Bridge between the PB and your smartphone.
Now try to resend the test attachment and see if it works!
If this was helpful please give kudos or marks as a solution. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
