Cannot use my playbook in Mexico with resort WI FI

I mainly bought my playbook to use on holidays instead of my lap top. could not use my playbook at the resort with WI FI eventhough I could use my lap top and other guests could use their tablets. It was very frustrating because every time I tried to contact Blackberry I got a scripted answer that they could not help me and I could not reach them by phone eventhough I tried and now my 90 days is over and we are going back to Mexico in a few weeks - I'm very disappointed with the lack of service. Should have bought an I-pad!!!

1. This is a user-to-user community support forum. We are not RIM employees, but volunteers who enjoy assisting other users. RIM personnel rarely comment on queries posted here. So your comments about should have bought an iPad really are useless here. Please don't come out insulting us, ok?

2. Your "scripted answer" from where?

3. You're welcome to your Playbook support number again. RIM has been quite helpful in supplying technical and warranty support on the Playbooks well after the 90 day complimentary support, free of charge.

4. Can you connect to your WiFi at home or other local hotspots, currently?

When you're back on the hotel WiFi, make sure you are accepting the hotel's terms of service agreement which often pops up on a different browser screen. I've seen that happen, quite confusing at times. Of course you really can't test this now, until you're back on the hotel WiFi?

Re: Cannot use my playbook in Mexico with resort WI FI

I accepted the hotel WI FI conditions and even had their resident internet consultant try to help me - of course, I can use my playbook elsewhere with WI FI

my frustration is that I tried to contact Blackberry via e-mail (Lap top) and by phone and all I got was an answer from blackberry.playbook support telling me they could not answer me because I did not have an incident # - I tried calling but got no one as their system requires info I did not have

I still don't know who to call to ask - is there a number?

Do I need a SIM card?

I don't know where you're located, what country?

If you have a WiFi only model Playbook, and it sounds like you, there is no SIM card.

You should have no problems connecting to wifi sites around the world. You likely do not have the correct settings for your PlayBook even though other tablets and laptops connect. The security settings are much higher for the PlayBook but it should still connect.

It's not a matter of 'resetting' the settings.

It is most likely some setting you'll need while trying to connect. Which you can't do while you're not there.
